ROUND 9- MOTUL TT ASSEN 🇳 - TONY ARBO #14 - RACE

After a positive weekend, we leave Assen with a bitter taste in our mouths for not having been protagonists of a race that was certainly promising.

Unfortunately for El Tiburón, the Dutch Grand Prix ended too early.

The ambitious Italian, who started from the fourth row of the grid, made an incredible Start, and right from the beginning he showed a great charge, energy, and determination, however, stopped at the first lap.

After sprinting up to the fourth position, at turn 6 he lost control of the front and, in order to avoid a crash, Tony went straight into the gravel where he had to promptly jump off the bike to avoid hitting the wall. Fortunately, he came out of the whole thing almost unscathed, although he did slightly injure the little finger on his left hand.

These are things that are part of racing, however, the Moto2 rookie takes with him many positive lessons from this stop in Assen, which he will certainly take with him during the summer break. Now, in fact, the Shark will have five weeks to gather new energy and prepare himself well to return to the battle of the World Championship, in full force from August 6-8 at the first of two events in a row in Spielberg!

🏆Moto2 World Championship 2021 - P14 - 30 Points

🎙 Tony: "I was very confident because I knew I could have a good race. I had a good pace in the warm-up this morning, so I really felt like we could do a good job. I want to thank my team for believing in me and giving me a competitive bike. Unfortunately, though, in the race, when I changed direction in turn 6, I lost control of the front end and, in an attempt to save the fall, I went straight into the gravel, where I had to jump off the bike to avoid hitting the wall. So we go home from Assen with zero points, but we will keep our focus for the second half of the season. I know I can do a good job, although we have to continue to work really hard as we are doing, to find the perfect conditions. We will use the break to rest, but more importantly to train hard and be as mentally and physically prepared as possible."

Jürgen Lingg:

Team manager

🎙Jürgen Lingg:"Tony took a clear step forward this weekend. Things went very well from FP1 onwards, and he was also fast in the warm-up. He worked hard and showed a strong pace. As a result, he was super motivated for the race, but a crash on the first lap ruined it for him. Things like that can happen and the important thing is that he didn't get hurt. Between now and the end of the summer break we'll still be working from the positive developments we've arrived at, because the trend is clearly going upwards and, if it continues like this, then the results will come too.

The important thing now is for everyone to relax a little and start the second half of the season with maximum motivation."
