ROUND 18 - GRAND PRIX MOTUL DE LA COMUNITAT VALENCIANA

THE MOVING FAREWELL TO THE TEAM ❤

After difficult weekends, the 2021 season finale has arrived and with it also the time to say goodbye to Team LIQUI MOLY Intact GP.

It had been a long time since the grandstands were as full of spectators as they were today at the 2021 season finale, at Valencia's Circuito Ricardo Tormo. The atmosphere was reminiscent of the old days and created a promising last show of the year.

For Tony today was also the last race of this turbulent Rookie season. The 21-year-old ventured into the Moto2 class with the LIQUI MOLY Intact GP team and faced a hard year of intense work, but important growth and learning. The Shark has managed to finish in the points eight times this year and even raced to fourth place at Le Mans, leaving the Memmingen-based team in 14th place overall in the world standings, with a total of 51 points. After a difficult finish in Valencia, the Italian has bid an emotional farewell to the Intact GP family, wishing him all the best for the future. But he is already enthusiastic and full of desire to put into play all the experience learned in the new adventure, which will start soon with the first seasonal tests.

For the LIQUI MOLY Intact GP team, on the other hand, an intense season ends with 7th place in the World Team Championship standings.

We, on the other hand, want to seal this season like this:

"Sometimes you win, every other time you learn".

well aware of the fact that our Tony knows both how to win and how to learn, grow and learn from difficult moments.

🏆Moto2 World Championship 2021 - P14 - 51 Points

🎙Tony:"Honestly I'm a bit sad because I'm leaving the team, but at the same time I'm looking forward to the new adventure. I'm touched, because I've become very attached to this Team and I really love all the people in it, because they have given me so much, especially Jürgen. He has given me so much trust and believed in me from day one. So I want to give a big thank you to everyone who helped me grow and get the best possible results. I am so thankful for all the work and I am sure that my future will be based on everything they have taught me. I will remain a part of this fantastic Intact GP family, which will always have a place in my heart. I would also like to thank all the people who have supported me this season, especially my sponsor friends, without whom it would never be the same for me. I was sorry not to see them all the time in the Paddock and to have them close to me physically, but I know that from next year we will make up for lost time. Now I will rest before starting my new adventure. I'm excited and I already have a great desire to start working."

Jürgen Lingg:

Team manager

🎙Jürgen Lingg:"For Tony it was the last race in our team and we are very fond of him. Tony is a really good guy, we liked him from the beginning and more and more, so it's hard to see him go. But that's part of our sport. I thank him very much for his collaboration, because he really did a great job for us, he brought a lot of ideas and it was always fun, as well as professional, to work with him. We wish him all the best in his future career."
