ROUND 17 - GRAND PRIX BREMBO DO ALGARVE - TONY ARBO #14 - RACE

🥵 WEEKEND FULL OF EFFORTS IN THAT OF PORTIMAO 🇵🇹

A weekend that started in difficulty and ended in the same way. Unfortunately, since the crash in Misano we have carried with us an unpleasant pain in the ankle that has accompanied us throughout the weekend, preventing Tony from riding as he wanted. Despite the injury, the Shark gritted his teeth, worked hard and tried to improve in every way his feeling with the bike.

After working hard with his team and getting an improvement on Saturday, hopes were naturally raised that he would be back in the fight for the Gran Premio do Algarve. However, the race turned out to be tougher than expected for the 21-year-old: difficulties from the first lap with the bike and pain increasingly difficult to manage.

Despite today's 20th place finish, the Italian managed to maintain his 14th place in the World Championship, before moving on to the last race of the season. The Shark goes home disappointed and angry from this weekend, but this will surely lead him to work hard in these days to try to recover, improve the situation and close the 2021 season with the good result he deserves.

🎙Tony:"A difficult weekend, which started with a lot of hard work and ended in the same way. The problem with my ankle, caused during the crash in Misano, then complicated things, because I was struggling to push on the platform, it hurt a lot and I couldn't ride as I wanted also because of this. Anyway, the weekend was intense in terms of the work we did. We tried every minute to build the right feeling and understand what was missing. We didn't manage to get what we wanted, but in the race, I was hoping and expecting to gain a lot of positions, because I felt I could still be fast and grit my teeth because of the pain. Unfortunately, it was more difficult than expected, I struggled to overtake also because, at each attempt, I went wide so we have to take a look at the data to understand the problem and get loaded and in full recovery for the final race next week, because I definitely want to close the 2021 with a good result.
